Dora the Explorer: The Adventure of the Herbal Leaf
One day, Dora the Explorer, Boots the Monkey and her Backpack plan to venture out into the deep dark forest of the Amazon. Dora’s mother wanted her to get some herbal leaves for her lasagna dish she was cooking for dinner. Before going out, Dora the explorer must carry some very important safety gear in her Backpack. She wonders aloud, “What should I take in my Backpack?”
There are some ropes, Map, some scissors, a first aid kit, a basket and trekking shoes. Dora the explorer looks at all of them wondering which items to keep in her Backpack and Backpack looks at Dora, very confused. Finally Dora the Explorer decides what she will take, “We need the ropes to climb the tree, the Map for guidance, the first aid kit in case we get hurt and the basket for us to carry the leaves!” “But, Dora?” asks the Backpack, “We don’t need the scissors and the trekking shoes?”
Dora the explorer smiles and explains, “No we don’t. I am already wearing my trekking shoes and we can pluck the leaves, there is no need for scissors at all!”
“Hi, Dora and Backpack, where are you both heading?” calls out Boots the Monkey. “We are going to get some herbal leaves for my mother’s lasagna, Boots. You want to join us?” says Dora the Explorer.
“Sure! Let’s go!”
So Dora the Explorer and the rest walk through the forest. It is full of tall trees and there are many birds that Dora, Boots and Backpack see flying high in the sky. “Wow Dora, it is such a beautiful day, nothing could go wrong today!” cried the gleeful Boots the Monkey, “I love forests.”
Suddenly, Dora the Explorer spots Swiper the fox. “Oh no, now what will we do?” Dora gasps. Boots the monkey and Backpack look at Dora the explorer. “What’s the matter, Dora?” Boots asks.
“Look its Swiper!” Dora points at the blue masked Swiper who sneaks towards them. “We have to say the magic words to stop Swiper from swiping!” screams Dora the explorer. “Do you know the words that will stop Swiper the fox?” she asks.
Boots the monkey and Backpack look at each other puzzled as to what the words are. Dora smiles and starts chanting, “Swiper, no swiping!” Boots and Backpack also start chanting along with Dora the explorer. “We have to say it three times.” Dora states.
“Swiper, no swiping!”
“Swiper, no swiping!”
“Swiper, no swiping!”
Swiper the fox runs away unsuccessful at swiping anything.
“That was close.” Boots the monkey exclaims. “Let’s move ahead and find those leaves.” Dora the Explorer walks deeper into the forest.
“We might need the Map for finding the tree,” says Dora the explorer. “Map! Map!” Dora calls out. The Map rolls out of Backpack and opens up in front of her. “Can you see where the tree is?” asks Dora the explorer.
Boots the monkey points out on the Map, “Yes, Dora, there’s the tree over there in the corner!” Dora the explorer sees the tree at one end of the forest. “Oh how do we go from here to the tree?”
“Maybe I can help you, Dora?” suddenly out of no where comes Tico, the squirrel. “Hello Tico!” Dora screams in delight. “Can you help us reach the tree, Tico?” “Si, Dora.” Tico, the squirrel takes Dora the Explorer, Boots the monkey and Backpack through the forest way. “We must help Tico so that all of us can reach the tree faster,” says Dora the explorer.
“
What should we do, Dora?” asks Boots the monkey.
“Let us all say ‘Faster, Tico, faster.’” Dora exclaims
So, both Boots and Dora the explorer scream, “Faster, Tico, faster!”
“Faster, Tico, faster.”
Tico the squirrel runs faster and faster through the forest till they finally reach the tree.
“We made it, Dora!” Boots the Monkey dances in joy. “Yay! Yay!” Tico and Boots celebrate. The Fiesta Trio plays there music in celebration
“Thank you, Tico.” Dora the explorer says. “You’re welcome, Dora.” Tico the squirrel is very happy to have led them to their destination.
The tree is really tall and Dora the explorer wonders how she will reach all the way up to the top of the tree where the herbal leaves are.
“Do you know how I can climb up all the way to the top of the tree?” asks Dora the explorer.
The ropes, basket and the first aid kit are brought out of the Backpack. “I wonder which one I need.” Dora asks.
“Oh! I know!” she exclaims, “We can use the rope to climb up all the way to the tree.”
Boots the Monkey and Dora the explorer both use the rope to climb up to the top of the tree and Dora collects all the leaves that her mother will need.
“We did it, Boots.” Dora the Explorer is ecstatic. “Let’s now keep the leaves in the basket, Boots.”
The basket is brought out of the Backpack and Dora the explorer puts all the leaves into the basket and puts it back safely into the Backpack.
“Boots, we did it without Swiper swiping anything!” Just then Swiper the fox appears out of the bush and attempts to steal the basket.
“Oh no, Dora, look out!” Boots points towards Swiper. “Come on, Boots, let’s chant the magic words again!”
“Swiper, no swiping!”
Swiper, no swiping!”
Swiper, no swiping!”
Swiper the fox is defeated once again after Dora the explorer and Boots the monkey chants the magic words 3 times.
“That was close! Now let us return home.”
Dora the explorer and Boots the monkey return home. “Mami, look I have brought your herbal leaves!” Dora the explorer produces the basket full of herbal leaves to her mother.
“Oh, these are lovely. Thank you, Dora and Boots” Mami says. “Now wash your hands and sit down for dinner.”
Dora the explorer and Boots the monkey sit down to feast on the delicious herbal lasagna that Dora’s mother has prepared.
The End
Dora the Explorer: An adventure in the woods
One day Dora the Explorer was sleeping when suddenly Boots the monkey came excitedly into her room.
“Dora! Dora!” he was so excited and panting for breath. “What’s the matter, Boots?” Dora asked, waking up from her bed.
“Oh Dora, I have lost my pair of red boots!” Boots the monkey started crying.
Dora the Explorer was surprised to hear this. She went up to Boots and patted him.
“How did you loose them, Boots?” Dora asked
“I was having my siesta when suddenly I woke and found my red boots missing!”
Boots kept crying and weeping and Dora felt really bad.
She thought very hard as to what she could do to help Boots get his red boots back.
“Oh what shall we do, Dora?”
Dora the Explorer thought and went to Boots’ room to check where he had kept his boots.
“It was right here, next to my bed” Boots the Monkey pointed it out to Dora.
Dora the explorer looked carefully at the spot and saw little foot prints that led all the way to the window and then outside into the woods. “I think someone took them, Boots. Here, look at these foot prints!”
“Oh my God, yes. Where can my boots be? And who took them?”
Dora the Explorer smiled and said, “It’s time for an adventure into the woods. Let’s go search for your red boots!”
Boots the monkey was very eager and anxious. He nodded and instantly brought Dora’s Backpack.
“We must figure out what we must take with us into the woods!” Dora the Explorer said.
“Lets see,” said Boots looking around, “We have a magnifying glass, binoculars, potatoes, torch and Map. What shall we take, Dora?”
Dora the explorer looked carefully at the items. “Hmm, what must we take? Do you know?”
Both Boots the Monkey and Dora the Explorer looked quizzing at each other. “Oh I know!” Dora exclaimed.
“We need to take the magnifying glass, binoculars, torch and Map, of course!” Dora laughed.
“We don’t need the potatoes?” asked Boots the monkey.
“Ha! No we don’t. What use will be the potato for our investigation?” asked Dora the Explorer
So, Dora the Explorer, Boots the Monkey and backpack set out to the woods. They started following the footsteps and went deeper and deeper into the woods.
“Oh Dora, I am so afraid. How are we going to find my red boots?”
“Don’t worry Boots, we’ll find it. We just need to find a way to get to the boots before it gets too dark. We must be home for dinner.” Dora the explorer said.
Dora and Boots suddenly lost their way; they did not know where to go next as the foot steps had ended right in front of a bush. “I wonder where we should go next.” Dora the explorer thought. “I am not sure why the foot steps ended here. There is bush here. Some trees over there.”
“It’s a dead end!” Boots cried out. Boots and Dora had both lost hope when suddenly Tico the squirrel appeared out of no where!
“Tico! Hello friend, what are you doing here?” Dora the explorer asked. Tico the squirrel smiled at them and waved at them to follow him.
“Oh where is he taking us? Oh he must know the way! Maybe he knows where my red boots are!” Boots the monkey claimed. Dora the explorer and Boots followed the quick and fast Tico through the woods; he kept going past various bushes and trees. “Oh I am so tired, Dora. Where is he taking us?” Boots the Monkey panted out of breath.
“Have patience Boots. Tico will take us to our destination!” Dora the explorer never lost hope.
And suddenly, Tico the squirrel stopped. He kept pointing at the little cave nearby. “Look, Boots!” Dora the Explorer exclaimed. “I think your red boots are in there!” Dora took out the binoculars from Backpack and started looking through it.
“Oh no! Boots your boots have been stolen by Swiper!” Dora the explorer squealed.
“What will we do now, Dora? How will we get back my boots?” Boots was in tears.
Both of them went into the cave. Dora the explorer took out the torch to see where Swiper was hiding the boots. “Look there is your boots!” Dora pointed it out.
Just then, Swiper the fox came out and stood in front of the boots. “What are we going to do, Dora?” cried out Boots the Monkey. Dora the explorer thought very hard. What can she do to prevent Swiper from swiping the boots? “Oh I know! Let us say the magic words 3 times! Come on Boots join me!”
Together Boots and Dora the explorer started chanting: “Swiper, no swiping!”
“Swiper, no swiping!”
“Swiper, no swiping!”
Swiper the fox instantly retreated and Boots the monkey ran towards the boots and hugged them and wore his favorite pair of red boots. “Oh Dora, thank you, I am so happy.” Just then the Fiesta Trio started playing their music. “Oh let us celebrate, Boots!” Dora the explorer and Boots the monkey happily danced to the music played by the Fiesta Trio.
“We must return home now, Boots. I wonder how we will find our way back home.” Dora the explorer suddenly saw it was getting dark. The Map instantly rolled out of her Backpack.
“Let’s look at the Map for directions!” Both Dora and Boots carefully followed the Map and finally reached home just in time for dinner.
“Hi Mami and Papi. We had such a nice adventure and now we are very hungry.” Dora the explorer sat down tired after the long journey. Dora’s mother smiled at both of them and asked Boots and her to wash their hand and set up the table.
While they ate, Boots suddenly exclaimed, “You are the best, Dora the Explorer! Thank you for finding my boots for me. I am so happy that my red boots are back where they belong.”
